This is not the time to ask for amateur vet help. Go see a real vet at an emergency clinic now. Cats like to hide it when they are in trouble; if he is showing pain then it could be very serious. Internal injuries serious.

Her fur had been hiding the damage but she had a bad cut that had completely severed the ligaments on one side of her tail. Either it got caught in a door or one of the neighbor dogs got a good nip. Thankfully it didn't need amputated but a few years later and it still flops oddly on that side. Another time she was howling in agony over a bug bite. You'd have thought she was dying. The vet called her a drama queen for that. So...yeah. Cats.
