Then again, I think I've come to the conclusion that it's a good place to be FROM since I haven't lived there in 20 years and it literally depresses me when I go there. Nashville seemed OK last time I was there (we went to visit my sister-in-law and see a show at the Ryman) and was certainly nicer than that large, squalid kleptocracy down in the southwest corner of the state.

(I should also point that I am originally from that large, squalid kleptocracy.)

Anyone have any veterinary backgrounds? There is something up with my cat causing him pain and I don't know what. It's either his stomach or he bruised himself by falling into something >:|

This is not the time to ask for amateur vet help. Go see a real vet at an emergency clinic now. Cats like to hide it when they are in trouble; if he is showing pain then it could be very serious. Internal injuries serious.

We woke up this morning and he's himself again.I don't know. I'm watching him for other signs.

I admit to getting paranoid, but when the animal can't *tell* you anything... you start to panic a bit (well at least I do)

We just spent... a stupid amount of money this month. It's like... we got good news on his job and then threw our wallets at people. I don't even... someone take our AMex cards. Please.

One time Roxy was acting completely normally but just being slightly more careful with her tail for a few days and I didn't think it was anything before I cornered her and got a good look. Her fur had been hiding the damage but she had a bad cut that had completely severed the ligaments on one side of her tail. Either it got caught in a door or one of the neighbor dogs got a good nip. Thankfully it didn't need amputated but a few years later and it still flops oddly on that side. Another time she was howling in agony over a bug bite. You'd have thought she was dying. The vet called her a drama queen for that. So...yeah. Cats.

We're of the opinion he did one of his famous belly rolls off his cat shelf in his crate and hit the next shelf, so he was sore on his side. He had me so worried though, I had my husband do Reiki on him, because I was really worried and it was Saturday night (no open vets other than emergency and I wasn't sure it warranted an emergency run) so I just grasped at everything I could. Right after the Reiki he perked up.
Yeah, I'm thinking he gave himself a small bruised he babied over. lol
