ages 25-28. its a nurse's aid class which most of us are taking because nursing schools lately perfer to admit students with a NA certificate. so its not like we are highschool students... only some seem to still be in that mentality.

I'm just sitting there thinking of stupid romance comic plotlines so I can get this pitch sent, and hopefully have a steady part time drawing gig while I work.

alot of doctors are afraid to prescribe pain medications anymore. its not that they don't care about you, but they can get busted by the DEA and lose their medical licenses if they DEA decides they are being a "pill mill" and prescribing too much pain medication, even if there is documented need.

Gods I hate cell work - with a passion. I swear, if I end up doing this for a living something has gone horribly wrong with my life! Need to make a calibration curve for an assay, know the basic technique - but in order to do it quickly (and therefore not kill the damned cells) I need precise volumes so I can prep all the pipettes beforehand. Unfortunately in (biological) academia hardly anyone ever seems to bother to include details like that in the literature; and my so-called lab-mentor is one of the least helpful people I've ever met. Argh - I really really hope I find someone tomorrow in the lab who'll be able to tell me the details of all these (literal) minutiae

@knittnkitten Maybe they have to talk about you because they have nothing else because their lives are so boring. Was high school the best time of their lives and they have to live there or did they make choices that side tracked the life they wanted or thought they would have? Do you have what looks to be a better life and chance to them?

@Vetinari If you can't find what you need in a book maybe you're meant to write it. I wrote my pattern drafting book because I couldn't find half the information I needed easy enough and what I did find wouldn't work for dolls.

We have what's called Tax Holiday Weekend starting today. It's supposed to help promote sales for going back to school items. Why the state seems to insist on having it AFTER more than half of the counties have started school is beyond me, but since my daughter is homeschooled it isn't as much of an issue for us. Also, since most of the school systems in the metro area have already started school, I'm hoping for smaller crowds today. Tomorrow we go shopping for a new laptop for Joy (since my husband works today) so that might be a bit more ... fun.

Ours is this weekend as well, though at least it makes sense - two weeks before school starts.

I took the clippers to my hair to fix it. omg, never been so happy. shortened up the sides, smoothed out the weird shelf the stylist had left in the back. i could probably use more trimming around the neck, but that can wait till next week.

My med records from the doc that retired, whom I loved and respected, has it in my records that it's a permanent disability and kept all the documentation current. I had to go for an MRI every two years and X-rays every year just to show that I won't get any better and that it's degenerative arthritis. The new doc has these records and refuses to send me for an X-ray or MRI, even though there's plenty of proof I've slipped more discs in my back. I can't even get this new one to send me to physio or a chiro. Nor will she prescribe me another albuterol inhaler. She told me if I have an asthma attack, go to ER. Then come back in three months.

I think it's high time to find a new new doctor. She can't be the only one available for you and she needs to get the message that you pay her - she isn't doing you a favor by seeing you.
