Halfway to my Tyni! :D Just made the second of four payments on my incoming realpuki's layaway. *happydance*

And I not only finally got around to making leggings for my BBB Ariel to go with her babydoll minidress (they look really great on her, made from a pair of human leggings I grabbed off the clearance rack at work for the purpose), but I also took the hot glue gun to her and my Sprite. They're not nearly so floppy now! Especially the waist joint on the Ariel, she was my little ragdoll baby, now it will actually hold in place! She's the one that when I got her I was so glad I already had a chair for her because she couldn't stand up on her own, so she's come a long way. I also put a gumband around her head to keep her wig on, she's been pitching it off a lot lately. It used to fit so much better. I need to get some self-adhesive velcro next time I'm anywhere that sells it.

That's three of my four resins hot-glue sueded now. XD I'm kind of leery of doing it to my Minifee, but he's always been the best at holding a pose anyway, so I don't think he needs it.

Yeeessssss!

Although sadly, it makes me realize how much Edward and Bella's relationship seems to have borrowed from Buffy and Angel.

SADLY? The only thing original in that series is the sparkles.

Yep, precisely my point. I'm not a fan of the genre but even as a casual observer, the collection of tropes and thread-bare cliches is so obvious, it's like getting slapped with a trout! I'm certainly not the target audience and if *I* can readily deconstruct the influences of the Twilight series, that's indeed pretty sad.

Hubby was a HUGE Buffy fan and he and the kidlet watched both Twilight movies yesterday. I'll ask him what he thought of it. I loved the original Buffy movie, but only watched the first year of the TV series. I guess even back then I was so over the teen angst thing - LOL!

Developers in Hollywood don't want to see anything with vampires in it. Thankfully I didn't go that way with Xavier and the stories I've done for him. I had a feeling Twilight wasn't all that different and unique when my sister got in to it, she wouldn't know a "good" book if it hit her. The commercials alone drive me nuts. I do think anything that gets kids reading is good but alas there seems to be a tendency to dumb stuff down to try and reach a wider audience.

*Yay $1 book store, the one Robotech book I was missing and Dr Who Castrovalva with Peter Davidson on the cover. But seriously, I've spent 25 years looking for Macross book #5.

DH is soooooo sweet! He just gave me a check from his credit union acct to try to make up some for my having to use my doll money to pay for a new TV! He told me he was going to give it to me for my birthday (August), but decided to give it to me now. Isn't he wonderful? :D

That is so PERFECT. Yes, yes this is exactly how it should have been done. I always knew Buffy would kick Edward's ass.

'Sides, Eddie has nothing on Angel or Spike, who are also emo and woe-is-me, but still kick ass despite that (and a hella lot cuter, too).

*Sighs* BtVS was a brilliant series by a brilliant writer. So sad when it ended. One of the only non-anime TV series I ever wanted to collect on DVD, too (Beauty and the Beast was the other one).
