Episode 3 of SGU - Still getting the overall impression (Despite his decision to not dial Earth, understandable if selfish though it might be, it had been his whole life since his wife snuffed it - though I always suspected Telford/SG homeworld secretly approved) that Rush is trying his best to keep everyone alive; sticking his neck on the line, and as a result getting kicked down because of it... Yep I know he makes other questionable decisions but yeah I can see why he's firmly my favourite character in this show! Young starts off fairly sympathetic too (surprisingly, I kind of dislike the character for many of his even more questionable decisions later). Ok I'm biased!

Episode 4: Darkness - Ugh yep dislike Colonel Young already by this point; a selfish man who asks his (seemingly already separated from him) wife to wait for him; despite not knowing if he'll get back, and that she clearly wants nothing to do with him. He's slow to make executive decisions, and well I can see why Rush shouts at him a lot! (And poor Rush - no one listens, though admittedly due to simulatneous caffeine, nicotine, and sleep(!) withdrawal his main method of communication has been snapping at people)

SGU: Episode 5; Light. Sooo... Let's see 1) Rush informs everyone that the ship is going straight for the sun 2) Pulls out of the lottery to "Safety" 3) Realises that the sun is a refueling method 4) Rescues everyone on the shuttle.

And then - because he disagrees openly with Young's leadership style/"skills" Young begins to suspect him of... What exactly? I've no idea, only that Young is acting mighty paranoid! And of course because he's the military leader, everyone listens to his doubts, sowing even more discontent and building tensions where the situation should have brought them together as a group... Why is this man even in charge?!?

...Ok yeah, knowing what's coming up with the planet/aliens/murder attempts has really made me even more biased than 1st time around.

...Anyhow back to labwork - the 2 hours between setting things running/being ready to get data should be over soon

This past weekend I finally got to see a SD size in person.
I've been planning for months my next boy, who will be an SD, and was worried that when I saw one in person that it would be too big for me.
No problems, though. I loved him and his giant resin self. And when we put my yo-sd girl on his lap...omg...so freakin' cute!

I have a bit longer to wait before I can order him, but at least there are no more worries about size.
