yep.... I lurk pretty hard. *hugs* :lol:

I'm almost done with the 3D modeling on the replacement parts. Stupid doll was/is seriously over-stressed in the joints. Debating pre-emptively modeling out the upper part of the ankle BEFORE those decide to break on me. -_-;;;

Then again, also gonna end up making replacement parts for the elbows, since we KNOW those have a tendency to break.

If you can get me files of the broken parts, we have a resin printer and a standard 3-D printer that can print them for you.

Long term project is once I eventually get my craft room set up some time next year, I'm going to make a wooden gazebo for my 1:6 scale crew.

Short term project is making clothes and clothing patterns for my dolls and collecting more Kelly dolls. I'm starting to get into collecting old Kelly dolls and playsets.

*hugs* MISTY!!!!!!! *hugs*

I was actually gonna go the shapeways sls nylon route with these. I figured that a resin print would snap under the stress, and an fdm print might not have the resolution for what I want. Plus, the nylon takes paint like a champ.

But, I've got no issues sending the files. Give me a sec and I'll get them uploaded to my google drive.

Of course, yet ANOTHER part broke. Srlsy, this doll is a lemon and it's little wonder that parabox didn't wanna touch it, and obitsu stopped making it. :lol:

I am curious to see how the replacement parts work out as my Obitsu 60 has had a hip and shoulder replaced. Both times it's been the post snapping off the ball.

Honestly? This is the third time I've had to get parts for him... it's also the time when the MOST pieces broke.

The first repair, from when he arrived NIB with a frikkin broken ankle, is still going strong. I should point out that this doll doesn't get touched very often because of how fragile he seems to be. :?:

Main reason I'm going through the effort is because, aside from cannibalizing another doll, the parts aren't available. I'd also rather not have to drop another few hundred on spare parts. :roll:

Same reason for not interacting with my guy from 2006. He used to be a great traveling companion until his age started catching up to him. We were keeping track of the times people mistook him for a Volks, tee hee hee.

I did put thought into wondering if I could string him a bit. It's easy enough to find round wooden beads the right size then I was able to get some half ball molds so making parts out of doll making clay became a possibility. I think I heard that Hazel had to have metal hips made up because she kept breaking hers.

Yeah the parts for all Obitsus are now made of unobtanium. I'll have Larry run the parts up on both the resin printer and the standard printer and send them to you and you can find out if they'll work. Our problem is we have no scanner (yet). I may have to break down and buy him one for Christmas.

Unobtanium - the only thing harder to find is James Cameron's humility.
