I woke up at 4am after a very detailed possibly accurate dream of why I'm a terrible bird owner and exactly why if Jackson dies(he's been sick for a few weeks and really should be dead by now based off of his behavior) it'll be entirely my fault. Since then I've cleaned the entire cage and everything they touch, bought them some blue berries and asparagus, and rearranged everything in the cage so that Jackson can access the toys and chew logs better with his currently wobbly mobility. It is now 6am and there will be no more sleep before a very long work day.

EDIT - Oh god this #*$&ing morning. Get into work early hoping to catch up on some backlog. Instead we have an extremely irrate caller and the office fridge lost power sometime over the weekend, defrosted everything, and is now sparking on some interior wiring. I need to track down the paper work for this thing, and the woman before me kept basically no records. Happy Monday folks.

This doesn't really suck, I'm just so annoyed it's not even funny, and I only have $.50 in my pocket so I can't even go shopping like I normally do when I'm this upset (I know I'm addicted to shopping as a coping mechanism).

First I was supposed to be contacted by HR over a week ago, and haven't heard from anyone. I don't have a contact name, and it's getting to the point of ridiculous. I emailed my principal, asking if she had a contact name because I have meetings next week (and I don't even know WHEN or WHERE just what days they are).

And my car. Ugh my car. I was rearended back in April, and my father said he'd have the mechanic look at it once summer started. It's now August, and my car failed inspection. Starting with the day it failed, our mechanic said that he'd look at it today, then asked if he could push it back to Thursday. I said it could work only if I could borrow a car because I have plans Thursday. It's only for an hour but the fact remains. We figured it out that I'd drop my car off tomorrow and borrow my mother's car. I just got a text saying that he can't take it until Friday because the weather's bad today. My response was "Ugh, okay" and apparently my father can't understand why I'm so frustrated. This is just compounding on everything and I'm clawing to do something.

I'd get a new mechanic but I literally have nothing but $.50 right now until I start getting paychecks from work again in a couple of weeks (hopefully, considering how that's going at this point) and I'm just....ugh.

Edit: At least I got the work stuff mostly squared away. Everything I need has been mailed to me, phew.

3 days left to get all the data I need...

FFS the situation wouldn't be this dire if some c*** hadn't caused a ruined experiment last week... Had some cell cultures going, but they got infected with bacteria. I thought it was my scaffold sterilisation method that was at fault, a bit upsetting but nothing to be done. Today I discover that the arse that is one of my fellow students has been routinely opening up the sterile packaging that contains the cell culture dishes, reaching in and taking out what he wants with unsterilised gloves (All in the open unsterile lab) and then putting them back in the sterile section.

No one else has been effected really because these larger dishes aren't used very often. FFS I wanted to hit him, I had words, he wasn't apologetic. c***!

Because of this my cells are old enough that they aren't v.healthy anymore, and tbh I'm not sure I'll actually have enough of them by the end of this week to get any data... RAGERAGERAGE

2 separate things to do with these:
1) a repeat of last weeks ruined experiment
2) the new complicated experiment involving calibration, and therefore loads of cells... That I may not have enough of
