Even better if they decide that since I have experience teaching in Japan and know things like changing to indoor shoes, that they want to send me there to evaluate the candidates. ^__^

Not sure if there will be any travel involved actually... but even if there isn't, some extra income will be greatly appreciated.

There is a Streetfighter movie being made. Given my deep and abiding love for all things male and masculine, this should be a real treat.

Granted the male cast (which is like pretty much everybody) is rather good looking (yes I'm a Ryu fangirl when I'm not being a Chun Li or a Street Fighter in general fangirl) to give Mortal Kombat and the previous live action Street Fighter cast a run for their money. And I do mean both the younger and older guys.

Youtube cast clip.

I expect to see a bunch of new Ryu fangirls training up on his gameplay and laying some smackdown or as least more doll version of these guys :D To think I didn't really want to do anything Street fighter for the dolls this year.

I remember the games, though when they first came out I wasn't allowed to go to the arcade. I used to look through the windows and watch the kids play games. So jealous!

lol. My parents bought the SNES to keep my brother away from the arcade and I got drafted as his sparring partner. And the rest became my gaming history.

Street Fighter movie? Oh my, do tell me more. Please! I approve, like Trethowan, of anything with a whiff of too much testosterone! Call me a connoisseur of action movies of all geographic regions! (Believe it or not one of my favourites is French, and it's basically like a 2 hour Parkour fight.) It may not be Mortal Kombat (NOTHING WILL BE MORTAL KOMBAT *Sobs that the movie is taking so long*....yes, I'm greedy, I know they just released MK: Legacy season 2 but that just ended on GIANT CLIFFHANGER territory and I. Am. A. Greedy. Greedy. Fan.) but I've always loved Street fighter. I need to get the taste of that horrible Tekken movie out of my mouth, and this new SF movie looks to be just the thing to do that. So does anyone know if it's a big budget film, or is it sort of like MK:Legacy (....did the production team do that as a nod to MK? :? )? For anyone that doesn't know (probably everyone else, I'm a huge MK nerd), basically what happened was, 2011 rolls around, a mysterious and awesome 8 minute short film leaks online of an updated, gritty, hardcore reality-with-a-hint-of-mysticism origin story for Mortal Kombat. People were screaming that it was leaked footage from a movie. Turned out it was just an amazing test pitch called "Mortal Kombat Rebirth" done by director Kevin Tancharoen (he made the entire thing by calling in favours and a budget of $5,000...it does look like a big screen budget was behind it though  ) who threw the test pitch at big studios, who turned him down. But the video went viral in a big way, and Kevin Tancharoen got a deal to helm the new movie (2015...tentatively) and a budget to make the webseries Mortal Kombat: Legacy out of the whole thing.

Also, poor MK cast members, everyone focuses on the gore so much that they don't really focus on the actual looks of the cast members, but everyone who has played in it has been very good looking! I love me some Robin Shou (first movie). The MK:Legacy season 2 cast is also particularly good looking. Stryker and Johnny Cage and Raiden...yep, all man!candy.

Street Fighter movie links in the post some post up of this one

Tekken was sort of better than the Chun Li movie (sad but true for me). They had threw in Maya/Crimson Viper in the story. Maya didn't make sense this early in Chun Li's history for me when Chun Li herself could have being the Interpol cop and let Charlie Nash be the military guy and die for Guile to make his entrance. Its more horrid than the weird Hong Kong comics I read.

Tekken was somewhat tolerable(I still can't believe I said this) even though they made Christie to be sort of Xiaoyu. Tekken was like, 'leave what you know with the cinema usher' but most basics were kinda still there if not loosely.

Now KOF is the sad one. I haven't seen it when I found out that Mai Shiranui kinda took over Blue Mary's role and stuff like alternate dimension... I mean there are actual agents in the game that can be used (Ikari crew, K' crew, etc) why go through all the trouble of combining characters. It makes them unrecognizable

I haven't seen Dragonball and didn't like Dead or Alive to go see it.

Some days you gotta wonder just what the hollywood writers were trying to pull.

Gonna have to go youtube this MK Legacy, since to date I only heard of the Street Fighter one that led to the current fan made movie being shot

Iwa_Hoshi Ahhh, so the movie is fanmade? :D Sounds awesome. I don't know enough of the back story for Tekken to notice the changes to characters, and I haven't seen the Chun Li movie, though I've heard it was awful.

King of Fighters was that bad? I'll stay away from that one too, despite not knowing the backgrounds of the characters.

Dragonball was...actually okay. It has purists ripping their hair out, sure, but it's not bad. Dead Or Alive, I happen to love the games (my friend and I literally played the entire thing to get outfits. We'd beat the living crap out of each other all to unlock the multiple alternate outfits...it was like Epic Estrogen Gaming  , and she still rags on me because I got tongue tied and managed to twist Hayabusa and Kasumi's names into a garbled "Kaboosa") and so we watched the movie....it's so bad! It's one of those unforgivable cinema monstrosities that are almost so bad they're kind of funny in the most unintentional way possible. The girls manage to escape a psuedo-traditional Japanese style stronghold by using hang gliders. In the first five minutes or so. It really tells you what kind of movie you're in for.

As for the whole "Legacy" thing, yeah, I think, especially if it's fanmade, that it's a nod to MK. If you're going to check out MK:Legacy (it's a free webseries made for the Machinima channel), I'd watch MK: Rebirth first:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XGnVhqhmip8 (Warning for violence...it is Mortal Kombat...I still can't believe this entire thing was done with a $5,000 budget  )

The first season of MK: Legacy, Raiden's origin story is based in the same sort of mostly-realistic world as this one. :D It's just a good watch! You'll have to tell me what you think. Maybe I'm just an obsessed fan (this fact is also true ;) ), but I really appreciated how Tancharoen handled this, with the combination of nods to the series while making it his own.

In conclusion? SCORPION. *Hyperventilates*

"Get over here!!!!"

Ok I didn't like Dead or Alive after the first game tried to murder my eyes with horrid camera angles. After a while DoA became a beach volleygame where girls were fighters on the side. And I still didn't really care. And then their crossover with Virtua Fighter came around and I was like "Why is Akira Yuki not in swimming trunks and playing beach games!!!!???"
