Any updates yet?

I just got my own little bundle of joy back in bed after her 4 AM feeding and realized that I had some free time to get on the 'net. Of course, I'll pay for this later when the lack of sleep catches up with me.

Hotel reservations - check; fancy restaurant reservation - check; packing list created - check! All go for 3 days up in the big town for our anniversary this weekend. 23 yrs. by the legal paperwork/wedding/oops baby!, but 30 years together!

Now, which doll do I take? Something small that he won't notice right away, I think.... :D

Woo! I made like 20 lipbalms/lipsticks/eyeshadows today! Feels good being productive.

I'm slowly building up a huge stock of quality cosmetics I have no idea what to do with >_> But hey, productive!

Rejoice! I'm a Mom. It's epic in every way. This post might be incoherent. Delirium from sleep deprivation has made me a wee bit loopy, and I can't figure out how to get pictures onto Flickr from my cell phone just yet. This is a crime, I'm taking a zillion pictures of my super awesome squirmy baby with a crappy cell phone!!! It's convenient for sending text pictures to the various family members who demand constant photographic evidence of my child, but it isn't so good for quality. We're going to buy a proper Canon DSLR VERY soon, as in this week. I've insisted. These little point and shoot cameras take forever and by the time the digital thing snaps he's moved. I must capture every bit of cuteness!

Little man was born on the 13th. I've named him Christopher. After HOURS of attempting a vaginal birth we ended up having to do a c-section so I'm a bit sore and it will be six weeks before I can function on any level of normalcy. It was a little freaky, the epidural lingered longer than I'd expected and even when I was discharged I had a hard time getting my legs to take stairs. Weird!

We've spent the majority of this week settling in and attempting to get a bit of sleep. My mom helped for two nights/three days, and my sister the next two nights. It was great having extra help that first week. Mom didn't rearrange my kitchen and my sister was nice.

So being a Mom completely rocks. I love my little wiggle-bug and it's fun just watching him. He makes the funniest expressions. I will have to sort out how to get a picture here for you guys.

My Granado doll arrived the day after I got out of the hospital but I've not opened it yet. I'll get around to that... eventually. Funny how I could care less about a new doll right now. I just want to do mommy things. Or sleep. Sleep would be nice. :-p

Congrads on a healthy boy! See if your camera has a setting for fast subjects, the icon might be a race car or a person running. Mine took clear pictures of wiggly puppies so it should work for wiggly babies.

Hahah wiggle-bug. That made me grin from ear to ear. Congrats Trethowan! And yeah, seconding what DK said. Check for a fast motion option on your camera. Most point-n-clicks nowadays have them. Even my six year old Canon Powershot has it. You might also have an option for multiple shots just by holding down the shutter button. That's the only way I used to be able to get pictures in focus until I learned to use a tripod and a delay function. My hands shake when I try to take pictures.
