When I transferred my car registration to Rhode Island, I had to get a state inspection done. Turns out, window tint is illegal in the state, and so I had to get it removed. It cost me $150 that I really didn't have, and they totally trashed my rear defroster lines, but it was done. I couldn't afford it until now, and so it went past the 30 day limit, so I had to pay for another inspection, and I had received a notice saying if it wasn't done, my license would be suspended... sounds like a suck so far (and it was, really) but I called up the DMV, paranoid that I hadn't gotten it done in time after all, and after twenty minutes playing round robin with their automated system, finally got a person on the line to check the status of things. They had to manually enter my inspection number, because it would have taken 24 hours to clear, and my license would have been suspended at midnight tonight. So YAY! Bullet dodged.

I so badly want to go on a rant of unnecessary governmental red tape. Sorry you had to deal with such craziness but I'm glad it was cleared in time.

Well I don't have an interview but I get to go take test to see if I can work at a company close to home. I should really apply for some of the jobs I saw in Reno though. They are a lot closer to what I really want to do and you never know unless you try right?

Woo - laptop fixed! Turns out the motherboard needed relplacing (eep), all my data was backed up just in case, but they didn't fry anything replacing it. (Phew) And since it had store insurance it didn't eat into my savings!

Went to a local used bookstore today and it was awesome! Well organized, clean, and didn't have an overpowering smell of old. I've have to go back someday when I have more time to explore their large two floors. I picked up a nice hardcover copy of The Book of Five Rings.
I'm mostly on Tumblr now.

Hope

A few days ago I was telling my husband about the first doll I fell in love with at age 8, a Sasha Gregor in the window of a toy shop. We were so poor I used to stand at the window and pray that there might be a broken one in the back I could have. Yesterday, 44 years later, I found a complete original Gregor at the Salvation Army for 3 dollars and 99 cents.(These commonly sell for 300 dollars and up.) Hugging, crying, thankful, incredulous! Never lose hope, dear children-at-heart!

So yay! In spite of the SUCK of this morning, there were good things :) For one, even though my boss is totally trying to fuck with my hours, the universe has seen fit to arrange things so I get a full week in, and get to mostly run the office by myself tomorrow.

The thing I'm really happy about though... I won a Valentine's Photo Contest on Tumblr! It was a giveaway from bluebirddollshoppe for two doll yukata. I entered a picture of Dallieh and Angel. Myrretah convinced me to enter, and picked the picture out with me. I don't really win things yanno? And I guess I don't have a very high opinion of myself or my work, and I definitely don't think much of my photography... so it felt really good.

I just loaded my birthday iTouch so I know all about loading them up. Good thing is once the bulk of stuff is done it's done but pack a snack.

PS: My needing an updated iOS is solved. It does appear my fingers are small enough to type on a pocket iPad so I can save for doll stuff instead :)
