Finished building and staining a bed for Nim, as well as her mattress. I'm going to be working on her bedding next. I also made a dress for her that I like, but there were definitely some ways I'd do things differently!

The 60s should arrive tomorrow, and they didn't really have a place to live in my workspace. My two 1/4 scales have been living in one cube of an IKEA Expedit, but they barely fit there, and the taller pair won't fit at all. The only good space is in the corner of my workbenches, which is where clutter goes to die. Dolliehs there won't end clutter, but they will displace it and force a better solution than stack til I can't ignore no more. (And I get an Expedit cube back, so the paperwork can go there.) It's about 24" W x 18" D x 48" tall, so if I'm willing to go tall, they have space. I started to build them something like bunk beds, but didn't like the way it was developing (looked too childish). Instead, they're getting an impressionistic treehouse space. I've got the high platform built; I'll paint it, wax it and install it tomorrow. I've got the frames for the ground floor furniture done; they just need textiles. The middle rooms have nebulous ideas (storage, perches) but I don't want to marry something that won't work.

In the world they represent, they live in a treehouse anyway, but I don't have space too build then a 1/3 scale treehouse (not indoors, and my outdoor trees don't map to their scale). I'll get creative with landscape images for background.

And I've got very basic, semi-wearable muslins of a pair of banyans for the big ones so they need not live naked while I get their fitting blocks established.

I decided to switch the heads on my MSD girls so that the heads would be on the original bodies instead of being hybrids (putting the Sara head back on the Hujoo Action body, and the Nina head back on the Dollzone body)... and long story short, my Hujoo girl is now in need of new strings and is in pieces in a shoebox, and my Dollzone girl also needs restrung because I did not restring her correctly the last time, but at least she didn't fall apart... (The knots came apart when I was trying to get the S-hook positioned in the Hujoo head... which is made more difficult by the fact that they don't have those s-hook holding grooves in the head like resin dolls do...)

So lots of restringing is due around Lamia's house.
I have so many dolls that I can't fit all their names in my signature anymore. @__@

Going to try making the heads and AJ's hands for my BSB. Starting with paper and making tape then a coating of Paperclay. That will leave open the option of using polymer clay or air dry.

Currently in the process of mapping out a set of dolls I want to do. I try to keep each group of my characters separate in that my obitsu are all related and my resins are all related but not to each other, ect. This I think is going to be a family of cloth dolls. I am terribly excited as it has taken me about two years to get around to these guys.

The best part is the historical costumes I get to do! The characters are all going to be in Medieval Byzantine dress! I have never made clothes from this time/culture before and the research is terribly interesting.

Coolies on the research, can't wait to see them.

I found some extra head bases and got started on some friends for the BSB, Pineapple Chris and Dirty Lance Bassmaster. The way I work it's easier to do one part of the face at a time and let it dry. One wrong grip and I could squish an eye.

guitars are SD, everything else is MSD.
then onto making a stage.

What kind of music do they play? I see headsets working better with some genres than others.

Why not do both headsets and mics. It allows for music genre switching as needed.

Attempting to blondify Mini-Jack. Can't decide to go with the tiger color scheme or let it go sandy brown to be more like his younger cousin there. Might not do his eyebrows since I'm not even sure if I can brush on that well.
