I live in rural Alaska, in Kenai. It's on the road system so it's not as remote as Bush Alaska towns and villages, but the population is only around 7,000. We are kind of a small drinking town with a serious fishing problem.
We have moose, caribou, bald eagles, bears, the occasional earthquake, the occasional volcano eruption (points to that big mountain across the Inlet), varying extremes of light and dark and, oh yeah, a whole lotta snow right now. It's a pretty place to live.
