Buying from an unknown website??

Postby kittyasauras » Sun Oct 14, 2012 9:14 pm

I found this online store that is selling something that I've been looking for, however no info comes up about them on a web search.

There is no contact page, only their email and facebook page. I have gotten in contact with them through facebook. When I did get in contact with them, they said they are having a lot of problems with their site and it is under construction. Their FB and Twitter page haven't been updated in a long time, but there is a coupon code on their website which expired in September of this year.

At first, their website would not let me register, (but some how I did register??) but when I go to check out it comes up with this error:

So is this website trustworthy or not? :/ Is there a way I can find out?

Here is the URL if anyone is interested:

Pay Pal might be trying to tell you something.

They might be out of business but the website is still up because their hosting hasn't run out. I'll buy several year plans so I don't have to think about it and my sites keep going on their own.

Ug that's such a tough call...
Is it very expensive? If it's something you want that badly but isn't too expensive then it's worth a shot. If it's really pricey though I'm not so sure it's worth the risk.

@DollyKim: that's what I thought too, but I was confused at the whole 'merchant says you must ship to this address'. I hadn't even tried to pay yet and it popped up with that message. She said she has certain countries blocked from perchasing, I wonder if accidentally she blocked Tennessee too?

@Dirili: No it's not very expensive ($15), I think it's legit now (but honestly I'm not 100% sure haha). I contacted the woman on FB, she is very very polite and absolutely confused as to why it won't let me check out. She gave me free shipping on the item because of all the trouble and sent me an invoice threw paypal.

She is completely quick to respond, and super friendly. She tried everything, gave me a list of what to do/how to check out, even did two mock orders herself on different items. I even tried a different browser trying to check out.

I checked her paypal address and it's confirmed and has had good transactions and all that. I guess we will see if my package gets here, or she gives me a tracking number or something.

I suppose I can always start a PP claim too if my package never shows up.

That's so weird about their problems. Can't be good for business!

Nice that you get free shipping though :D Hope it all works out ok.

Several places I buy from won't ship to certain countries, I guess it's problems with shipping and customs and perhaps a bit of fraud.

It's nice to know things got straitened out.
