No, I'm saying the written word (pick a language, any language) has taken a real hit in the last few decades and that runaway bad grammar is one of the first signs of the apocalypse. And with December 2012 approaching rapidly we've got to all do our part to help bring about an orderly end of the world.

English is a dynamic and evolving as well as an aesthetic language. That means, "If I am not writing a formal paper or article I may spell things as I very well please." Basically standard english spellings of many words are based on archaic old english spellings. Remember above all english is not a phonetic language, words aren't spelled according to strict "letters equal specific sounds" type rules. Also, if enough people use, pronounce, or spell a word a certain way, that usage becomes correct.
And, oh yeah, K2, remember please that we, westerners, have only had mass literacy for around two centuries. Before that, the vast majority of people could not read at all and there were very few set rules about grammar and spelling. I very much doubt that the recent abuse of the english language is a sign of the apocalypse(If you want signs look at the recent natural disasters, the wealth of the wealthy, the poverty of the poor, and the rise in food prices) but I do agree that it's disgusting that some people can't even be bothered to construct a somewhat intelligible sentence to convey their thoughts.
