Almost finished

Postby Astrid » Tue Apr 10, 2012 5:27 pm

So over a year ago I bought a used Dollfie dream the neck piece was broken and had a sort of jimmy rigged paper clip contraption keeping the Haruka head connected to it.

I was trying to figure out a way to be able to put another head on it and MadVinyl , Doctor of everything Vinyl came to my rescue.

I then changed out the piece but then the other weirdness came, my dollfie dream hip was angled higher then the other she would not stand right and it made sewing for her a problem,

I was afraid but I began removing her sheaths and saw that her spinal colum was shortened somehow, I couldn't really see down inside to see if a link was missing or what. I saw this which everyone I spoke to told me that the column should come up more.

The legs were hard for me to get off so I put her away. Fast forward a year later and I decide to tackle her again

I am able to get down to her skeleton and I see the link is there it just was pushed down in itself I fixed it

then began to put her back together. She is together now just without head on because I have to paint her head

(Do you think I have enough strings? My husband ordered me some supplies and went a little crazy with the stringing stuff)

Way to go on fixing her! I know next to nothing about DDs but it looks to me like you did a good job! Good luck on painting her head, and at least you know you'll never run out of elastic lol

Thanks I did have to make a few cuts in the vinyl near the top of the thighs to get the ball /hip joints out. I was sad about this but after the material hardened again you could not see the slits very much so it was okay.
hah yes I dont know why he got so many strings, I think he though it was one pack per part like one pack for leg for arm etc..

My luck if I took one apart down to the skeleton I'd never get it back together again. I'd have a Terminator Dolfie. haha
