I have also been lucky that non of my dolls have taken any spills.
I have purchased badly damaged dolls in the past and have resorted to buying parts to replace the damaged ones. I mostly stick to modifying the doll completely though.

I think it's kind of lucky that dolls take spills. As a buyer of second hand dolls, broken fingers, chips and cracks usually mean a good deal on a doll in the market. *naughty*

I gotta say, my baby Aisling is a champ. She's fallen off of just about everything and hasn't broken anything yet *knocks on wood*. Yesterday I set her up on my kitchen hutch to get a picture of her in the hoodie I'm knitting and when I looked away to adjust the camera she fell off the hutch, smacked the handle, bounced off a trunk, and then faceplanted on the floor (which is very thinly covered concrete). I was sure she had destroyed something (my biggest fear was an ear, I admit I hoped for her nose) but not so much as a mark. One of her eyes shifted, though, and I swear she had a 'let's do that again' look.

Dolls are funny that way. But hey, you end up developing ninja reflexes in record time. I can't remember the exact items now, but many a time there have been breakables that have nearly fallen, that I, or my friends, snatched up without thinking and we always laugh about "dollieh-catching reflexes".

I've been fairly lucky so far, in that I haven't had any major breakage with my kiddos. Well, aside from Rune's arrival with the broken ear, but that turned out happily, so I don't really count it as a tragedy anymore.

I only just noticed a few days ago that my IH JID Ryan has a tiny little chip out of his nose... Ouch. He did NOT have it when I got him, so I must have dropped him one time too many. Since I'm still not finished with his faceup, I'm sure I can either cover it up as well as possible, or use it to create a little scar with its own storyline ;)

So far the only damage done is inside my boy's head at the neck hole where the pliers slipped. I'm grateful for that. Hopefully I'll never deal with real damage.
