Fragment of Conversation

This is totally off T but I had to share!

YOu know how sometimes you hear just a flash of conversation in passing that will leave you wondering? I just heard one yesterday. Here it is for your amusement, consideration, horror or just plain bewilderment.

Overheard while standing near a group of middle aged ladies:

"Well, she keeps disconnecting Daddy's oxygen hose, but I'm sure she doesn't mean anything by it. Daddy DOES get a little upset....."

Er... what?!! I... uh... for once I am speechless!

*blinks*

Yeah...I would be seriously wondering too. I would have probably made a dork of myself if I was there. I think I would have turned to them and asked, "What???"

Well. I'm going to hope that "she" is a child that someone is not properly watching. Not keeping an eye on your kids is a favorite ranting topic of mine but that aside, I really hope she isn't an adult. I love catching bits of conversation and trying to figure out a logical explanation for out of context statements. Most of the ones I hear are dumb drunk college students, so not so hard to guess with.

Here's hoping nothing bad happens to "Daddy".

"She" could also be a pet. My brother has a bird that habitually does things she shouldn't, like shredding the bills.

Actually I *think* the woman was referring to her mother... but then again... I don't know! It was just that little flash.

The horribly FUNNY thing about it is... I could JUST IMAGINE that as part of a dollieh story!!

So... no prize or contest BUT... if you want to use that line in a story... let's see what sort of scenes it would conjure in your fertile brainz!! Anyone who wants to... feel free to use part or all of that line and see if you can build a story or a scene around it! :D

"Well, she keeps disconnecting Daddy's oxygen hose, but I'm sure she doesn't mean anything by it. Daddy DOES get a little upset....."

Who wants to take that dare?!

I was guessing the same thing. Probably referring to an older couple where Mom is the "she" in question.

...it doesn't need to be breathable oxygen...like, maybe an oxygen tank for...construction...of some kind? But it's more diabolically evil if it's medical oxygen. Better plot device.
