Ordering from Volks's site

Postby MitisFeles » Fri Nov 11, 2011 2:54 am

Two days ago I ordered two dolls from Volks japanese site, and payed them with Paypal. No problem at this point, but later when receiving the confirmation mail from Paypal, it said that the payment was sent successfully, but Volks didn't elaborate the payment for the moment and must do it later. Anyone of you know if it is the normal procedure? I'm really worried about the possibility that I've done something wrong...

Dee Dee, I moved this over to Let's Talk so that hopefully, someone who doesn't visit the 1/6 scale forum but can answer your question will see it.

I used to order all the time from Volks Japan, but I never used paypal, so I'm not sure if that makes a difference. (Just used direct credit card payment on their site---I don't think they even used to accept paypal. ^^;;)

They will send you a shipping confirmation email a few days after you place the order, from my experience. It's usually about 2-3 days afterward and will include the EMS shipping tracking number on the package.

I always received the package within 4-5 days after I paid them.

From your description, I think it's the currency exchange difference. That happens sometimes when using Paypal to send different currencies.
If you send a payment in USD to a person/company who uses a different currency (in this case, Yen), it will sometimes ask the recipient if they are willing to accept the payment in USD, have it converted to yen, and pay the exchange rate fee.
It just happened to me the other day---someone in the UK sent me a payment in GBP and I had to manually 'agree to accept' the payment before I received the funds.

So probably that's the same thing that happened to you---but vice versa. VolksJapan has to 'accept' your payment in USD.

I just wonder, though----did you send it in USD? I know when I ordered from VolksJapan, it was always already in yen...... ^^;;

I hadn't considered a delay due to currency exchange. Dee Dee can tell us what currency is being exchanged but it's probably Euros to Yen since she's in Italy.

First of all, thank Mlatch and thank Setsuna for your kind attention! Now i'm a little relieved.
Stating Setsuna's experience, I'm thinking that at this moment I don't received Volks's confirmation simple because they haven't shipped the package yet. The value exchange seems to be already effectuated and confirmed, because my Paypal confirmation e-mail presents the scaled amount in yen and not in euro, but I cannot be sure that Volks doesn't have to do a counter-confirmation ^_^' We will see in the next days...
