Life Sims: The Sims and Inzoi

Postby Jobee » Sat Mar 29, 2025 5:34 pm

Just curious if any of you folks also enjoy the Life Sim genre of video game, since a new game has just launched to join the Sims this week. Korean company Krafton has published their life sim named Inzoi, in early access. Since it's in early access, it's not entirely stable and a lot of features haven't been added yet, but I chose to join during Early Access to provide bug reports and feedback and help out.

Before Inzoi, the reigning champion of the genre was The Sims series by Maxis, which is published by EA. I've been playing that series since I was a kid. And since you folks are dolly people, and Sims are a lot like dolls, I thought some of you might play too. Does anyone else here enjoy a good Sims game now and then?

I never could get into Sims itself, but I've been a member (with an extended absence at one point) of Second Life for 19 years - joined just a few months shy of it opening up to the public. My avi is so much like a doll that she even has doll skin. Mostly she's her OC which is a merrow/elf. Right now she's enjoying an additional anime head look.

I've somehow never really played any life simulation games, but I do think they'd be something I'd enjoy, if I ever got around to it.

LGR has showcased some early-access Inzoi gameplay (mostly on his second channel, LGR Blerbs). From a technical standpoint, it seems fairly impressive, but it doesn't have even a tenth of the personality of The Sims.

(Plus, its use of generative AI completely puts me off from trying it.)

Of course they're dolls, I keep saying that game characters are dolls. lol

I've watched Enzoi played, and people were really happy that it was including things you have to pay extra for on Sims.

I don't play any of the fancy ones, though I have tried Second Life, and the mobile version of the Sims. Right now two of my favourite games are Animal Crossing Pocket Camp Complete and a very cheap and simple little thing called Fairy Village.

I tried linking one of my adopted click pets here, but the board wouldn't let me. :/
