So I was sick a few days over Christmas holiday. Then two days later (after attending his family get-together) my husband became ill. Since he had a dr appt already on the 31st, he decided not to go in before. Then Saturday I became ill again. Monday, he took me to the walk-in at our dr office and they determined I have the flu. This is the FIRST year I didn't get my flu shot since I can't even remember when! My husband did get his flu shot, but today when he went to his scheduled appt, the doctor sent him over for a lung xray. He has adult asthma.... That was 45 minutes ago and I don't know how long he'll have to wait or when the doctor will have the results.

Our family of 4 adults are ALL sick.

Stay healthy. GO TO THE DOCTOR if you feel ill. Don't put your loved ones at risk. And if a family member is ill, stay away as much as possible and wear a mask and gloves if you have to.

I "only" got a cold (or a sinus infection) which is hopefully about to go away, but it's been incredibly annoying.

I swear, EVERYONE is sick right now. There are at least four different illnesses going through my town right now.

The kids are always giving me their colds. It seems like a holiday tradition.

I've had an upper respiratory thing since the Friday before Christmas. Here in Canada it's a long wait to see a doctor even at a walk-in clinic, so we generally try to just get better on our own, but this thing wasn't leaving so I tried seeing if I could buy cough syrup or something at the drug store. The ladies said if I was wheezing, I had to see the doctor. So I did. Now I have two inhalers, and after about another week I'm finally starting to feel like I might be getting better sometime in the future. The one inhaler whacks me upside the head with vertigo a bit, but that symptom's getting less.

The good side of all this? It's happening during my time off.

Sorry you have been dealing with this, Tam. Here in the States we tend to think healthcare systems like Canada's are superior to ours in every way - but obviously it's not necessarily the case. My husband has been on vacation this whole time also. Kind of a win/lose situation, huh?

I live in Alberta, too. So the healthcare's "free" if your income's under a certain amount. We kind of get what we pay for.

LOL Yeah, win/lose. Win, I can rest all I need. Lose, there's stuff I'd like to do that can't get done.
