Update - my mom was taken to the ER again late last night. Suffice it to say it was a bad day. She ended up making nonsensical statements and odd facial expressions. This time the EMTs actually didn't even ask if I wanted her go to the ER. She was better at the ER, but even a couple of the nurses questioned a few of her mutterings. My husband and I were there until 3am when the ER doctor told us they were going to keep her because her sodium level was low and at her age they can't just flood her body with fluids via IV. I'll call in an hour or so to see how she's doing.

Things continue to be difficult. I have an appt with the elder law attorney this morning so my husband has taken the day off from work. Perhaps if I'm not here to complain to, she'll settle down more.
