Latex foam cosplay sword tip bent. Anyone have a fix?

Postby Trethowan » Fri Jul 10, 2015 9:11 pm

*cry* My WoW Frostmourne was upside down in the box during our move and the tip has bent. It's a foam sword, Larp approved, with the stiff latex plastic sealed over. The foam tip bent and now has a permanent groove and fold in it.

Does anyone know of a resource for repairing these kinds of things? I can't seem to find a replacement for it online (except for a cheap latex sword on ebay for $50.) It looks bad though, the seams on the sides look awful and the paint is bad.

Thanks for any tips!

ps. worst case scenario, I'll make a scabbard for it.

Not that I could help, but can you post a photo? I'll mention it to a couple friends who cosplay.

Have you tried gently heating it? like with a hairdryer or hot tap water? Some plastics return to their original shape when heated, I think.
