“This box has been sitting by the door for weeks guys,” Lee said. “Seriously dude, I know you’re a total sad-sack but you can at least bring your mail in.”
Micah grunted. (And there was more moping.)

“Yeesh. Fine, I keep what’s in it.”

Lee stared into the frowning contents of the box.

“I am home! Yes, I know, it was a harrowing and terrible time for you all to be here without my magnanimous presence but put away your tissues and smile once more. After waging almighty war with a particularly wicked feline I escaped the horrific prison of sparkles and ribbons. I slew all the palace guards, seduced a princess, fought a dragon, and …. ”
Ivan puffed his chest and told a glorious tale of victory (with embellishments here and there for emphasis.)

“Right… uh, I’m outta here guys. Catch you later.”

“Sorry bro,” Ryan said. “This is the last one, I swear.”

“My friend is not happy to see me.” Ivan pouted. “Was my absence so terrible? Oh how I weep at your suffering at my hand.”
“Hey Ivan,” Micah said. “Welcome home.”
“Say you missed me,” Ivan said. I really, really missed you Micah, I love you so much my dearest friend. I hated being alone, lost, forgotten… it was too much to bear. The tiny king shuddered and hugged Micah’s wrist. “Smile silly boy, we must celebrate my glorious return. A feast! Call forth tiny wenches!”
“Sorry Ivan, I’m just a little down. I’m glad to see you, really I am.”
