One sunny day there is a knock on Hazel's door...





HAZEL: Welcome home, I'm Hazel and this will be your house too! We are all very happy to have you here.
Could you tell me your name?





NEW KITTY: (whispers) F-f-fennix





NEW KITTY: but nobody wants me, because I'm ugly, and they were throwing me away, and... (sniffle)





HAZEL: Now listen to me, Fennix, I don't want you to ever think you are ugly! You are beautiful! And we want you here! They were very bad men, and they didn't deserve to have a cockroach let alone a lovely kitty-girl like you!





HAZEL: This is your home, it's not a lab. I teach school three days a week, and I will give you other assignments as needed. You can use the computer too, just ask first. Now, would you rather have something to eat or something better to wear first? And later I can show you where you can sleep, too. Welcome home, Fennix!

Ohhhhhh POOR little heart! Yes, Hazel, you are doing fine! Keep reassuring her. Children with low self-esteem NEED all the bolstering they can get!

Also. Add eggs and protein to her diet. Doubtless the supplier fed her pellets. You can tell by the dullness of her hair. ZooPreem LabChow! HORRIBLE stuff. it's mostly corn and high fructose corn syrup with artificial vitamins and chemicals to keep it from spoiling!

She needs eggs. If you can make them safe magically, I'd say one raw egg a day mixed into whole milk, with just a *little* Stevia leaf to sweeten it (avoid too much sugar of course) and given as a milk shake treat. Good lean cuts of organic meat (kittkes are obligate carnivores, and they need taurine!) and vegetables of course.
