80's Flashback--- MLP & Barbie

Postby Trethowan » Sun Oct 02, 2011 10:19 pm

So my parents said, "get the rest of your crap out of our basement." Well, they didn't really say it like that. But I did, and now I'm saddled with all these boxes and boxes of things I didn't know I'd kept. I thought I already had all my old toys. Anyway. I found MORE Barbies and My Little Ponies. So yes, there is a box of mold-encrusted, musty-smelling Barbies and MLP's in my house. Ewww? Or AWESOME? They've been sitting since the mid-80's so I have no idea if they're salvageable.

Should I toss 'em or can they be cleaned up?

Oh, I guess I should post a picture of my grungy old toys. Ha! Gross...

Elbow grease and baking soda! haha
You never know, some of them might be worth a lot of money. Maybe you have a super rare something or another that's been stashed. ;)

I think anything is probably fixable as long as there isn't mold growing inside of the vinyl.

Don't toss them though. ;____; they are toys. Toys need to be loved/played with.

Don't toss them! Even if they look really bad there are a ton of people on the MLP boards that can do wonders restoring really bad looking ponies and even the ones that are beyond hope can be turned into customs. As for the Barbies I think someone here might want them.

No way. MLP is huge right now, clean them up and throw up on here or ebay.

^^ She is absolutely right! MLP is really big right now. In fact, any vintage 80's toy is a pretty safe bet to put of eBay or something.

heehee... you know you're getting older when your childhood toys get "vintage" attached to the decade. ;-) One day they'll be playing 70's and 80's rock on the "oldies" stations. heehee... oh my. Won't that be something. Yay, well, I've been doing homework all day, sorry I haven't gotten pictures posted yet.
